Financial Reality Fair for HS students--Rotary Brings Financial Literacy to AB HS Students

The Rotary Club of Acton Boxborough runs an annual Reality Fair for all ABRHS sophomores every April, bringing a taste of financial literacy to the students.

The event, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Acton Boxborough, Acton Boxborough Regional High School, and several local businesses, gives students a better understanding of the financial responsibilities they will face in the real world. Guided by Rotarians and other volunteers from the high school and the community, they learn what it takes to balance a budget.

Interact Club--Rotary Sponsors Youth Service Club for ABRHS Students

Interact Clubs are service clubs open to all HS students. Students are responsible for running all the fun and meaningful service oriented activities and projects. Interactors develop leadership skills while making a difference in their community and the world.

An Interact club’s service projects are designed to improve the quality of life at home and abroad. These projects often address today’s most critical issues, such as violence, drug abuse, AIDS, hunger, the environment and illiteracy.

Dictionaries for 3rd Graders

For years, by partnering with the non profit Dictionary Project, the Rotary Club puts personalized dictionaries into the hands of the 400+ third graders at the elementary schools in Acton-Boxborough.

The dictionaries are for the students to keep as their own personal reference books throughout their elementary school careers and perhaps beyond.

Rotary Day at the UN--Rotarians and Students Spend Rotary Day at the UN

Every year for more than 70 years, 1,000 Rotary members, UN officials, Rotary youth program participants and guests have been invited to a special program, Rotary Day at the United Nations, in a rewarding Rotary-UN partnership.

Rotary Day at the United Nations also includes a youth session open to high school students interested in humanitarian service and involved with Rotary youth programs. They have the opportunity to get an overview of the United Nations and much more.

Rotary Youth Ambassadors--during the year for Jr and Sr HS Students

This program is open to all Acton and Boxborough HS Juniors and Seniors at ABRHS, vocational schools, private schools, charter schools and homeschoolers. This is a community service, learning and leadership development opportunity for students committed to making a difference in the community. Working alongside Rotarians, candidates will be inspired to take on key youth leadership roles in our community service events or projects.
