Senior BBQ

Each year since the mid 1970’s, the Rotary Club of Acton-Boxborough celebrates seniors from Acton and Boxborough communities by sponsoring a BBQ lunch for them. This annual tradition, started by one of the founding Rotary Club members Bud Flannery, is still going strong well after 40+ years.

This Rotary Club event known as “The Senior BBQ” started as an outside BBQ lunch at the Senior Center where Bud Flannery, as grill master, treated seniors to his famous BBQ chicken. The event has since moved to the Boxborough Regency.

This year again it was a packed house as more than 85 seniors from the Acton and Boxborough communities eagerly attended “The Senior BBQ”. They were treated to a delicious BBQ lunch at the hotel, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Acton-Boxborough, with Rotarians helping out as servers. The seniors had a wonderful time.
